Spartanburg, S.C. – Senior Matt Brown's one-over 73 paced Furman to an 11th place finish on Tuesday in the Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational at the par-72 Country Club of Spartanburg.
Brown, a Brookeville, Md., native, finished at two-over par for the tournament to share 20th place with fellow Paladin senior Anthony Aloi, who carded a three-over 75 during final round play.
East Tennessee State (-11) shot an even-par final round to overtake the host Wofford Terriers and claim a two-stroke victory. Radford, Appalachian State and Elon rounded out the top five in the 16-team field. Furman slipped from ninth to 11th after shooting a 16-over 304 in Tuesday's final round.
Caleb Keck (-7) of Appalachian State fired a 72 in the final round to capture individual medalist honors.
Furman returns to action April 21-23, at the Southern Conference Championship on Daniel Island, S.C.
