Furman Golf Opens Spring Season At John Hayt Collegiate Invitational

Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's golf team will begin its spring season on Sunday when it opens play in the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational at the par-72, 6,910-yard Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

The 14-team field for this season's John Hayt Collegiate, hosted by the University of North Florida, includes 10 of the top 50 teams in the country, highlighted by seventh-ranked LSU, ninth-ranked Duke and No. 16 Arkansas.

Following a practice round on Saturday, tournament play opens with 18 holes on Sunday and second round play on Monday morning.  Final round play is slated for Tuesday morning.

The Paladins recorded three top-10 finishes in the fall, highlighted by a sixth place at  Louisville's Cardinal Intercollegiate.  Senior Anthony Aloi leads the Paladins with a 73.7 stroke average through 15 rounds this season.
