Jonesborough, Tenn. – Senior Anthony Aloi and sophomore Josh Chay each posted an even-par 72 to lead Furman to a 12th place finish on Sunday in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the par-72 Blackthorn Club at the Ridges.
Aloi, a Plainsboro, N.J., product, notched his best round of the weekend by recording two birdies on the day and playing the front nine at one-under par. Chay followed up a one-under 71 on Saturday with his second straight round at par or better. The Riverside High School graduate birdied three holes en route to a share of 29th place.
Senior Matt Brown also garnered a share of 29th place after carding a final round 75 to finish the 54-hole tournament at three-over 219.
No. 12 Missouri (-7), on the strength of a two-under 286, rallied to claim a one-shot victory over Tennessee (-6) with UNC Wilmington (-5), Memphis (-4) and Virginia (-3) rounding out the top five in the 13-team field.
Memphis' Grant Milner, who posted back-to-back rounds of 67 on Friday and Saturday, posted an even-par 72 on Sunday to claim individual medalist honors at 10-under 206.
