Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. -- The Furman men's golf team (+36) posted an 18-over 306 for the second straight day, but the Paladins slipped to 14th on Monday in the John Hayt Intercollegiate at the par-72, 6,977-yard Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
Junior Matt Brown (+8) paced the Paladins during round two with a three-over 75. Brown notched two birdies to record a one-over 37 on the back nine before shooting a two-over 38 on the front. Senior Matt Broome, who is tied with Brown for a share of 41st place at eight-over, carded three birdies en route to a four-over 76.
UCF (+12) fired a 294 to maintain first place just three strokes ahead of a three-way tie for second place between North Texas (+15), Arkansas (+15) and Tennessee (+15). TCU rounded out the top five in the 15-team field after 36 holes at 17-over par.
Julien Brun (-5) of TCU carded a 71 on Monday to move into a one-shot lead over teammate Johan de Beer (-4) and first round leader Sang Yi (-4) of LSU.
