Paladin Golf Opens Spring Season At Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate

Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's golf team is set to begin its spring season at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at the par-72, 6,828-yard Wexford Plantation Course on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

The 36-hole tournament includes Furman, Davidson, DePaul, Elon, Francis Marion, Georgia State, Hartford, Louisville, Marshall, Ohio, Presbyterian, Radford, Richmond, Samford, USC Aiken, Western Carolina and William & Mary.

Tournament play gets underway with a shotgun start on Monday at 8:30 a.m..  Final round play is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 8:30.

Furman's lineup is led by senior Matt Broome and Austin Reeves.  Broome, a native of Barrington, R.I., fashioned a 72.5 stroke average during the fall and claimed a first place finish at the season-opening Springhill Suites Intercollegiate.  Reeves, a Greenville, S.C., native, posted two top 10 finishes in the fall and compiled a 72.6 stroke average.

Live scoring will not be available for the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate.  Results for both rounds will be posted on as soon as possible each evening.
