GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Three Furman Paladins have been named to the 2005 NCAA I-AA All-Star Team, it was announced today by I-AA.org.

Senior guard Patrick Covington, sophomore fullback Jerome Felton, and punter Ingle Martin were selected to the squad, which is unique in that every position on both offense and defense is represented.

Covington, who recently was named to both Sports Network and Associated Press All-America squads, started in 34 games in his career and played a pivotal role in Furman averaging a SoCon best 469.9 yards per game in 2005.

Felton, an All-Southern Conference selection, led Furman in rushing this year with a program fullback record 940 yards and 18 touchdowns, including a 105-yard, two-touchdown performance in the Paladins' 29-23 NCAA I-AA semifinal playoff game loss to eventual national champion Appalachian State.

Martin averaged a SoCon leading 42.5 yards on 34 punts this fall, including a career best 70-yard effort in a 14-12 first round playoff win over Nicholls State. A second team Sports Network All-America selection as a punter and all-league choice at both punter and quarterback, he also passed for 2,959 yards and 20 touchdowns and completed his two-year Paladin career as the school's all-time passing and total offense leader.

Furman compiled an 11-3 record in 2005 and was ranked No. 3 in the final Sports Network NCAA I-AA poll.
