GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Three Furman Paladins today were selected to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team, as selected by vote of league head coaches.
Furman running back Jerry Williams, defensive end Josh Lynn, and free safety Nathan Wade were named to the 25-memeber squad.
Williams, a true freshman from Prattville, Ala., earned starts in all 11 games and rushed for 483 yards and three toouchdowns, including a season-high 98 yards in Saturday's 58-21 season ending victory over Wofford.
Lynn, a true freshman from Fort Lawn, S.C., started in three games and tallied 24 tackles.
Nathan Wade, meanwhile, totaled 77 tackles and an interception as a redshirt freshman. A product of Antioch, Tenn., he notched a season high 16 tackles against Wofford en route to earning SoCon Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Furman won its last two games of the year to claim a 5-3, third place finish in the SoCon as part of a 6-5 campaign.
