GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Four Furman Paladins have been named All-Southern Conference following balloting by league head coaches, it was announced today.

The four selections --all second team picks -- included sophomore running back Tersoo Uhaa, senior offensive guard Tyler Haynes, senior tight end Chris Truss, and senior defensive back Julian Hicks.

Uhaa, from Gainesville, Ga., led Furman in rushing with 535 yards and scored 14 touchdowns on the way to pacing the Paladins in scoring with 84 points.

Haynes, of Birmingham, Ala., earned all-conference honors on the strength of a solid career that saw him start in 31 games.

Truss, meanwhile, caught only seven passes this fall, but four went for touchdowns, including a 13-yard strike in Saturday's 58-21 season ending win over Wofford. The Atlanta, Ga., native, who last year garnered second team all-conference honors, finished his career with 39 receptions and 10 touchdowns. His selection marked the 11th consecutive season a Paladin tight end has been named All-SoCon.

Hicks, a former prep teammate of Truss' at Atlanta's Riverwood High School, tallied 64 tackles this fall at the bandit position.

Appalachian State led all schools with 15 players selected to the all-conference team. Elon had 11 players choses, followed by Chattanooga and The Citadel with six each and Samford with five.

Furman posted a 6-5 overall record and 5-3 SoCon mark for a third place finish.
