Nov. 8, 2005
Coming off a 27-24 loss at Georgia Southern on Saturday, NCAA I-AA sixth-ranked Furman returns home to face its oldest football opponent, Wofford, in the Paladins' final regular season home contest of the season. The game will be televised by College Sports Television (CSTV) beginning at 12:30 p.m. and will be available through DirecTV (Channel 610) and Dish Network (Channel 152).
Its six-game winning steak snapped by its loss to Georgia Southern, Furman needs at least one win -- and possibly two victories -- in its final two games to qualify for the NCAA I-AA playoffs, which get underway Nov. 26.
Wofford is coming off a 24-0 loss at Western Carolina last Saturday.
Saturday's contest will also include ceremonies honoring the Paladins' 1980 and 1985 Southern Conference championship teams.
