GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Coming off a 27-17 win over Coastal Carolina on Saturday in its final non-conference game of the season, Furman returns to action this Saturday when it takes on arch-rival The Citadel in Charleston in the 87th renewal of the Southern Conference's most historic and longest running football series that began in 1913. Kickoff for the Parents' Weekend contest is set for 2:00 p.m.
Furman, which snapped a three-game losing skid with its triumph over Coastal Carolina, is 2-3 on the season and looking for its first league victory of the season. The Citadel, which sports a 3-2 season mark and 1-1 conference record, dropped a 28-7 home decision to Wofford last Saturday and has lost two of its last three games.
