GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman Paladins will play Auburn in football in 2009, athletics director Dr. Gary Clark has announced.
Scheduled for Nov. 7 at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium, the game will mark the fourth meeting between the two schools but first since 1956. Auburn leads the series 3-0.
Furman's last clash against a Southeastern Conference opponent was against Vanderbilt in 2002. The Paladins are scheduled to play South Carolina in 2010 and Florida in 2011.
Furman, which posted a 6-5 record a year ago, will take on Virginia Tech Sept. 6 this year. The Paladins report for preseason practice on August 4.
