Furman: Has the challenging task of stepping in for graduated All-America fullback Jerome Felton, a 2007 fifth round draft selection of the Detroit Lions and leading scorer in Furman history...despite working in Felton's shadow for three seasons, has proven to be a strong, productive performer in his own right...physical, hard runner and quality receiver...highly respected as a player and person by teammates and coaching staff...will serve as a team captain this year along with offensive tackle Joel Bell and cornerback William Middleton. 2007 -- Saw action in all 11 games as a reserve and member of special teams...recorded nine rushes for 60 yards and a touchdown...also caught seven passes for 60 yards and two scores and collected eight tackles on special teams...had four rushes for 41 yards and a touchdown (26-yard run) versus Clemson...caught two passes for 34 yards against 14th-ranked Elon (52-49 win)...touchdown receptions came against Presbyterian (40-16 win) and at 11th-ranked Georgia Southern (24-22 win). 2006 -- Emerged as a playmaker despite primarily working as a backup to Jerome Felton...saw action in all 12 games and earned one start (for an injured Felton) versus Appalachian State...wasted little time in gaining notice when, in the season opener against Jacksonville State (17-13 win), he hooked up with backup quarterback Jordan Sorrells on a game winning 19-yard touchdown catch with 28 seconds left in the game...despite being closely defended, gathered in another 19-yard strike from Renaldo Gray in the Paladins' 13-10 victory over Georgia Southern in the regular season finale, thereby helping Furman nail down its third straight NCAA I-A playoff bid...ran for 24 yards and caught a pair of passes for 27 yards against Chattanooga (28-22 OT win). 2005 -- Appeared in all 14 games as a reserve fullback and member of special teams. 2004 -- Member of scout team...awarded redshirt and extra year of eligibility...captured Furman's Purple Pounder Award (scout team player-of-the-year) following the season.
