GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman and South Carolina State will resume their football series beginning in 2014, the schools have announced.

The Paladins and Bulldogs, who last squared off in football in 1998, will play Sept. 20, 2014, in Orangeburg, and in Greenville in 2015.

Furman and South Carolina State first met on the gridiron in 1982 in NCAA I-AA (FCS) playoff action, and in all have played 14 times over the years.  The Bulldogs claimed the first two meetings before the Paladins reeled off eight consecutive wins from 1984-94.  The two programs have split the last four clashes, with Furman winning the last meeting, 27-19, in Greenville during the 1998 campaign.

Furman leads the all-time series 10-4.
