GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Adam Mims and Kadarron Anderson headline a list of six Furman Paladins named to the Southern Conference coaches preseason all-conference teams, it was announced today.
Mims, a senior wide receiver from Birmingham, Ala., was a first team selection as both a wide reciever and return specialist while Anderson, a junior linebacker from Greenwood, S.C., was a first team pick.
Paladins earning second teams tabs include junior offensive guard Ryan Lee, junior running back Tersoo Uhaa, and senior rover Max Lerner.
Mims caught a Furman season record 74 passes for 878 yards and four touchdowns a year ago, and Anderson registered a squad-best 123 tackles, including six for-loss in 2009.
A junior from Carrollton, Ga., Lee started all 11 games at left tackle last fall but will make the switch to guard this year.
Uhaa is coming off a 2009 season that saw him rush for a team leading 535 yards and 13 touchdowns. The Gainesville, Ga., native also led Furma in scoring with 84 points.
Lerner had 60 tackles and two interceptions in 2009, including a 43-yard return for a touchdown in a 38-20 victory over Chattanooga. He is also from Birmingham.
