GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman Paladins basketball coach Larry Davis announced today that forward Quan Prowell will not return to school for the 2005-06 year.

"This is a personal decision for Quan, and we certainly wish him the very best," said Davis in making the announcement on Friday.

A 6-foot-8 Columbus, Ga., native, Prowell averaged 15.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore last season. He saw action in 15 games but sat out 14 contests -- all Southern Conference games -- after being declared academically ineligible on Jan. 5.

Furman posted a 16-13 record a year ago and went 9-7 in SoCon play for the program's first winning league campaign since 1991-92.
