Diagne Earns Spot on Media All-Southern Conference Team

North Charleston, S.C. - Furman senior Moussa Diagne was named to the 2006-07 All-Southern Conference second team as chosen by the Southern Conference Sports Media Association.
Diagne, a 6-8 forward from Thies, Senegal, has been named All-Southern Conference by the league media for three consecutive years. He is Furman's leading scorer this season, averaging 13.1 points per game to go along with 4.6 rebounds. He is one of the league's leading free-throw shooters, connecting on 81 percent (69-of-85) of his attempts at the charity stripe. Diagne ranks 23rd all-time on Furman's career scoring list with 1,251 points, averaging double digits in each of the last three seasons.
UNC Greensboro's Kyle Hines earned the league's top player award, while Stephen Curry of Davidson was tabbed Rookie of the Year. Davidson's Bob McKillop was named Coach of the Year for the sixth time in his career.
Fifth-seeded Furman (14-15) will challenge No. 4 UNC Greensboro in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference Men's Basketball Championships on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
