Greenville, S.C. -- The Furman men's basketball team looks to improve on a 1-3 start in Southern Conference play when it travels to the College of Charleston for a 6 p.m. contest at John Kresse Arena on Saturday. The game will be televised live on CSS with Matt Stewart handling play-by-play duties and former Cougar coach John Kresse serving as color commentator.
Furman looks to get back on track after suffering a two-point loss at Georgia Southern last Saturday and an eight-point setback versus Davidson on Wednesday night at the Bi-Lo Center. The Eagles and Wildcats outrebounded Furman 33-19 and 39-24, respectively.
In the loss to Davidson, Furman buried 9-of-12 three-pointers in the first half, but connected on only 1-of-11 treys in the final 20 minutes. The Paladins continue to lead the SoCon shooting 40.1% from three-point range.
The Cougars swept pair of game from Furman a year ago, including a 66-53 win in Charleston. Josh Jackson totaled 26 points and 10 rebounds in the Cougars victory over Furman at Kresse Arena.
Furman opens a three-game Southern Conference homestand Monday when it hosts upstate rival Wofford at 7p.m. at Timmons Arena.
