Greenville, S.C. -- Furman basketball makes its return to downtown Greenville Wednesday when the Paladins host the Southern Conference South Division leading Davidson Wildcats in a 7 p.m. contest at the Bi-Lo Center.

Davidson (13-3, 4-0 SoCon) enters the contest on a nine-game winning streak that includes victories over Ohio, Charlotte, Arizona State and preseason league favorite the College of Charleston. Furman, who snapped a 16-game skid against the Wildcats with a 70-66 win at Timmons Arena on January 14, 2006, comes into the matchup at 7-7 overall and 1-2 in league play.

Davidson holds an 84-61 advantage in the all-time series between the schools, and the Wildcats have won 16 of the last 17 meetings.

Wednesday's game and the Paladins' February 19, battle with Charleston mark Furman's first trips to the Bi-Lo Center since the facility hosted the Southern Conference Tournament in 2000 and 2001. Furman's last regular season game at the downtown arena, a 68-55 victory over Old Dominion, took place on November 28, 1999, in the Southern Conference-Holiday Hoops Tournament.

Prior to moving into Timmons Arena in 1997, Furman had played the previous 38 seasons at the Greenville Memorial Auditorium which was razed in 1997 and replaced by the Bi-Lo Center.

Tickets for the Paladins return to downtown Greenville are $13. Season ticket holders can purchase additional tickets for just $11. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets at $8 each by contacting Dwight Covington by phone at (864) 607-5148.
