MACON, Ga. (AP) - Shaddean Aaron scored 24 points to lead Mercer over Furman Wednesday night.
It was the second straight win for the Bears (3-5), who went through a five-game drought after a season-opening upset of USC. The win also snapped a five-game losing streak to the Paladins (0-7).
Tied 32-32 at halftime, Mercer outscored Furman 24-9 over the first nine minutes of the second half, beginning with two consecutive 3-pointers by Aaron.
The Paladins got within seven on Justin Dehm's layup at 7:25, but they got no closer.
Aaron was 6-of-8 from the field in the second half. Brian Pfohl added 16 points and Calvin Henry had 12 points and nine rebounds.
Noah States led Furman with 13 points, while Dehm and George Brozos each scored 12.
