Furman Falls At Duquesne, 85-65

Pittsburgh, Pa. - Aaron Jackson paced four Duquesne players in double figures with 20 points to lead the Dukes past Furman 85-65 in men's basketball action Sunday afternoon at the A.J. Palumbo Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.
With the Dukes lead trimmed to 50-44 on an Alex Opacic layup with 15:52 remaining in the game, Duquesne reeled off a 21-4 run and held Furman to just one field goal over the next eight minutes to open up a 71-48 advantage and put the game out of reach.
Jackson connected on 7-of-11 from the field and 5-of-5 attempts at the foul line for his game-high 20 points to go with 10 rebounds. Damian Saunders scored 15 while Bill Clark and Eric Evans each added 14 for the Dukes. Duquesne shot 51.7% (31-60) from the field, 36.4% (8-22) from the three-point line and 15-of-22 from the charity stripe to improve to 3-0 on the season.
Jordan Miller led Furman in scoring for the third straight game with 14 points, including 6-of-8 shooting at the line. Noah States and Connor Nolte each added 10 points while Alex Opacic contributed eight points and eight rebounds.
Furman held a 31-30 edge on the boards but committed 16 turnovers to just seven by Duquesne.
After trailing 14-4 at the first media timeout, Furman rallied to trim the halftime deficit to 42-33. Darryl Evans keyed the Paladins run early in the second half to pull within six.
The Paladins continue their four-game road trip at Dartmouth on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
