Greenville, S.C. - Davidson raced out to a 17-point halftime lead and cruised to a 73-51 victory over Furman to claim its 17th consecutive Southern Conference regular season win Wednesday evening at Timmons Arena.

The Wildcats (9-6, 7-0) held Furman to 29.6% shooting from the field in the first half and 35.3% for the game to take their 21st victory in the last 22 meetings with the Paladins.

Stephen Curry led the way with 14 points and seven rebounds while Jason Richards added 11 points and eight assists. Boris Meno and William Archambault came off fo the bench to chip in 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Curry and Richards combined to tally 18 points in the first half as the Wildcats jumped out to a 37-20 lead. Davidson connected on 14-of-25 first half field goal attempts, including 6-of-15 beyond the arc. The Wildcats used a 10-2 run to open the second half and increase their lead to 47-22 with 16:22 remaining before finishing the game at 51.8% from the field.

Alex Opacic led the way for Furman with 14 points and seven rebounds. Noah States notched his first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. The Paladins out-rebounded the opposition for the second straight game holding a 34-33 edge on the glass.

Furman converted on 4-of-19 three-point attempts and committed 16 turnovers to Davidson's eight miscues.

Furman (2-15, 1-7) will host the College of Charleston in a regionally televised game on Saturday at 5 p.m. The battle against the cross state rival Cougars will be broadcast live on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS).
