Men's Basketball Set To Entertain ETSU In Front Of Sold Out Crowd Saturday At Timmons Arena

Furman vs. ETSU Game Notes

Greenville, S.C. -- Furman, coming off a sweep of its three-game road trip, opens a four-game homestand Saturday afternoon when it entertains the ETSU Bucs inside a sold out Timmons Arena.

Furman enters Saturday's game at 19-5 overall and 8-4 in the Southern Conference following a 64-45 win at Western Carolina on Thursday evening that capped the Paladins 3-0 road trip. ETSU dropped to 19-6 overall and 9-3 in league play with an overtime loss at home versus Wofford on Thursday night.

The Bucs, who claimed a 79-56 win versus Furman in the first meeting of the season between the schools on December 29, in Johnson City, Tenn., hold a 31-27 series lead and have won three of the last four meetings. Forward Jeromy Rodriguez totaled 19 points and 11 rebounds in the first meeting to lead the Bucs, while Matt Rafferty paced Furman with 19 points.

On Thursday night, Furman limited Western Carolina to 31.4% shooting for the game, forced 22 turnovers and allowed just 13 first half points en route to completing the regular season sweep of the Catamounts. Freshman Noah Gurley netted a team-high 14 points and Rafferty posted his 11th double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 boards as Furman defeated Western Carolina for the seventh straight time.
