Furman Ends Road Trip With Saturday Evening Tilt At Wofford

Furman vs. Wofford Game Notes

Greenville, S.C. -- Furman concludes its three-game road swing on Saturday when it travels to Spartanburg, S.C., to face Wofford for a 7 p.m. tip-off at Richardson Indoor Stadium.

Saturday's game will air live on CW62 in the Greenville-Spartanburg area and will also be streamed live on ESPN3. The first of two meetings this year between the Paladins and Terriers can be heard on the Furman IMG Sports Network with Dan Scott and Tom Van Hoy calling the action. Furman enters the contest at 15-3 overall and 4-2 in the Southern Conference following an 89-79 loss at UNCG last Saturday. Senior Matt Rafferty, who posted 22 points, 10 rebounds and five assists versus the Spartans, leads the Paladins averaging 17.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. The forward has notched nine double-doubles in 18 outings this season. Junior Jordan Lyons has added 17.1 points per contest, while sophomore Clay Mounce averages 11.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

The Paladins and Terriers are set to meet for the 143rd time on the hardwood with Furman holding an 86-56 series advantage. Wofford claimed a 79-70 decision in Spartanburg last season before John Davis III scored 13 points to pace the Paladins to a 76-52 triumph in Greenville in the last meeting on February 10, 2019. The Paladins have won two of the last three games versus Wofford and the schools have split the last six meetings.

Wofford currently leads the SoCon at 6-0 and is 14-4 overall this season. The Terriers stretched their winning streak to five games with victories at UNCG and VMI last week.
