Jerry Smith and Tom Conard led Furman with 13 points apiece.

LSU upped its record to 8-3 with a 78-74 victory over St. Mary's on Saturday evening. The Tigers will be the first SEC opponent that Furman has faced since falling 66-61 at Tennessee last December.

Furman enters Friday riding a school-record 18-game regular season winning streak and has won 19 of its last 20 games overall. The Paladins, who have won 10 straight games at home and eight consecutive true road contests, are the first SoCon team to start the season 12-0 since Davidson won its first 15 games during the 1963-64 season.
