Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team will open a five-game road trip when it travels to Auburn, Ala., to face the Auburn Tigers on Saturday.  Tip-off at the Auburn Arena is set for 8 p.m. ET.

Furman enters Saturday's game at 3-5 after posting an 81-57 victory over Presbyterian College this past Sunday at Timmons Arena.  Senior Bobby Austin, who was tabbed as Southern Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday, buried 6-of-11 three-point attempts and tallied a career-best 20 points in the rout of the Blue Hose.  The Paladins also got a major contribution from their freshman class as 6-foot-9 Kendrec Ferrara poured in a career-high 13 points and point guard Stephen Croone added 10 points and nine assists without committing a turnover.

Austin's six triples led a Furman squad that drained 15-of-32 three-point attempts on the night and netted 55 second half points against PC.  The 15 makes beyond the arc tied for the third most in a single game for a Paladin team and most since they totaled 15 treys versus Samford during the 2010-11 season.

Senior Colin Reddick continues to lead the Paladins averaging 10.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest while twin brother Charlie Reddick ranks second in both categories averaging 9.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

Saturday's contest marks just the fifth all-time meeting between Furman and Auburn and first since the Tigers claimed an 85-74 win over the Paladins in Auburn, Ala., on November 22, 2004.  Auburn holds a 3-1 series edge with Furman's lone win in the series coming during the 1922-23 season.

The Tigers improved to 3-5 by socring 65 second half points in a 92-42 rout of Grambling State on Tuesday night at Auburn Arena.  Frankie Sullivan leads head coach Tony Barbee's squad averaging 18.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

Following Saturday's game, Furman visits Atlantic Coast Conference foe Wake Forest on Tuesday night.  The game, which will tip-off at 7 p.m. at Joel Coliseum, will be televised on the ACC Network and can be found on Direct TV channel 628 (NESN) and channel 464 (Fox SportSouth).  ESPN3 will also carry the game, but it may be blacked out in most ACC markets.

All Furman men's basketball games during the 2012-13 season will be aired live on 103.3 WOLT-FM and 96.3 WGOG-FM.  Dan Scott will provide play-by-play with former Paladin guard Ron Smith handling color commentator duties.
