Furman Baseball Announces Four Signees

June 11, 2008

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman baseball coach Ron Smith has announced the signing of four players to national letters of intent.

The four latest recruits include LHP Stephen Gary from Greenwood, S.C. (Emerald H.S.), RHP Jamel Mann from McDonnough, Ga. (Henry County H.S.), LHP Kevin Gottlieb from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (Palm Beach Gardens H.S.), and RHP Bobby Lyne, a product of Mundelein, Illionis (Mt. Carmel H.S.).

The lastest Paladin signees comprise a seven-member signing class for Furman, which earlier announced the addition of Riverside second baseman Will Owens, catcher Blaine Rosenberg from Birmingham, Ala., and center fielder Andrew Cadger of Dunwoody, Ga.

Furman posted a 33-24 record in 2008, including a 17-10 Southern Conference mark good for a third place regular season finish.
