April 22, 2005

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Friday's Furman-Wofford Southern Conference baseball game, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Wofford's Russell C. King Field, has been postponed until Saturday at 3:00 p.m. due to a thunderstorm and heavy rains that struck the Upstate Friday afternoon.

The Paladins and Terriers will play a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Furman (14-20, 7-10 SoCon) is coming off a three-game conference sweep of Western Carolina last weekend and is currently in eighth place in the SoCon standings, a half game behind seventh place Davidson (8-10 SoCon) and one and a half games behind fifth place East Tennessee State (9-9 SoCon) and Western Carolina (9-9 SoCon).

Furman sports a 13-4 record versus Wofford over the last six seasons and is 19-6 against the Terriers under head coach Ron Smith.
