General: Veteran righthanded pitcher whose return to form would be a major bonus...will work out of the bullpen in a setup role but also has experience as a closer...could be used in closing role in the early going until Nick Hollstegge completes his return from shoulder surgery...has great stuff with a quality fastball and slider, but must regain control to be effective. ..currently tied for second on Furman's career saves ledger with 11. 2005 -- Served as Furman's closer the first half of the season before giving way to Nick Hollstegge...went 0-2 with a 5.74 ERA...four saves ranked second on the staff...led the squad with 28 appearances, all in relief...recorded three saves and a 1.12 ERA in his first eight appearances (8.0 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 10 K) and sported a solid 2.45 ERA and four saves through mid-April before slumping over his final seven appearances (4.2 IP, 9 H, 11 ER, 11 BB, 3 K)...recorded three strikeouts and his first save of the season in 1 1/3 innings of work in 13-6 win over High Point...nailed down back-to-back saves with a pair of scoreless one-inning performances against Appalcahian State (13-11 win and 5-4 win)...named to SoCon Academic Honor Roll. 2004 -- Made the move from role of successful team closer into the starting rotation with mixed results before returning to the bullpen...went 2-5 with a 6.84 ERA in 10 starts before moving back into a relief role...most successful outing in a starting role came in a 4-3 win over Ball State (6.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K)...also picked up a win in a 12-3 triumph over Elon (5.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K)...gained a victory in relief (5.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K) in a 14-10 decision over Appalachian State and in a 7-6 Furman win over Gardner-Webb (2.1 IP, 2 H, 0 ER). 2003 --Named first-team All-Southern Conference relief pitcher...saw action in 27 games, all in relief...posted a 3-3 record with seven saves and a 1.12 ERA...seven saves tied a Furman record first set by Rob Purvis (2000)...earned his first collegiate save against Niagara, throwing the final 2/3 of an inning to preserve a 9-7 win...picked up a win and a save in two appearances against Clemson, pitching 2 2/3 innings and allowed no hits and no runs...helped Furman to 32-24 record for most wins in school history.
