GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's baseball team swings back into action Friday when it plays host to North Carolina Central in the opener of a three-game weekend series at Latham Stadium.  First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m.

The two teams play Saturday at 4:00 and first pitch for Sunday's finale is 1:00 p.m.

Furman (8-7) will look to snap a four-game losing skid in Friday's opener, having dropped a three-game series at 20th-ranked Ole Miss last weekend.

The Paladins' pitching rotation will consist of junior right-hander Will Gaddis (1-2, 2.42 ERA), sophomore left-hander Grant Schuermann (3-1, 4.15 ERA), senior right-hander Matthew Quarles (1-1, 4.82 ERA).

Furman leads the Southern Conference with a 3.95 ERA, strengthened by a solid weekend of work at Ole Miss that saw its staff limit the Rebels to just eight runs in the three games.

The Paladins' challenge has been on offense, having gone scoreless over the last 33 innings.

North Carolina A&T (9-6) dropped a pair of games to North Carolina Central last weekend after a five-game winning streak that included a 6-5 triumph over Charlotte.

Friday's contest will mark the first meeting in baseball between the two schools.
