Furman:  Experienced left-hander who is expected to contend for a slot in the weekend rotation...sports two seasons of work as both a reliever and spot starter....boasts excellent control.  2011 — Compiled a 3-5 record with a 5.88 in 19 appearances, eight of which were starts...began the season as a member of the weekend rotation...later settled into the role of mid-week starter before finishing the campaign out of the bullpen...worked 59 2/3 innings (71 H, 18 BB, 35 K)...earned his first win of the season with a career best performance (8.0 IP, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 K) in a 3-0 shutout of USC Upstate...worked 2 1/3 frames of scoreless, two-hit ball versus to earn the victory  versus The Citadel (7-6 win)...was oustanding in relief against Western Carolina (5.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K) but did not factor into the decision in the eventual 14-13, 16-inning loss to the Catamounts...named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.  2010  — Posted a 1-1 record as a freshman, working 30 2/3 innings primarily in relief...pitched effectively (5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K) but did not earn a decision  against Charleston Southern (7-5 loss) in his first collegiate start...notched his first victory in relief (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 0 K) against Ohio (13-8 win) in his next outing...worked effectivley (3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K) against Charleston Southern (9-8 loss) in Greenville...in all totaled 17 appearances and three starts.

High School:  2009 graduate of West Chester High School...two-time first team all-conference and All-Cincinnati selection...twice named second team all-state...won school record 24 games (24-4) with 2.68 ERA...fanned 176 in his career, including 14 in 2009 sectional game.
