Women Take Third, Men Fifth at 35th Annual Furman Cross Country Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Both cross country teams finished in the top five of their respective divisions, with the women taking third and the men fifth at the 35th annual Furman Cross Country Invitational today. Both teams finished best of all SoCon schools in competition at the event.

The Furman women were led by sophomore Brittany Johnson, who finished the 5K course with a time of 18:42, good for 12th overall. Freshman Jenna Callahan and senior Page Bridges also finished in the top 20 for the Lady Paladins.

UNC Charlotte took the women's title, with a total of 60 team points, while Clemson came in second with 79 points.

Junior Patrick Morgan led the Furman men, finishing ninth with a time of 26:42 on the 8K course. Junior Joe Tenini also finished in the top 20 for the Paladins.

The Men's division was won by ETSU with a total of 40 points and three runners in the top ten.
