Furman Cross Country Set to Host 35th Annual Furman Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Furman men's and women's cross country teams will host the 35th annual Furman Invitational on Saturday morning on the Furman University Golf Course.

The Paladin men's team has earned three top-three team finishes this season, with second-place finishes at the Eye Opener Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C. on September 8 and at The Citadel Invitational in Charleston, S.C. on September 29. The Paladins placed third at the Western Carolina Invitational on September 15 in Rock Hill, S.C. and seventh at the Disney Classic on October 6.

Furman is led this season by Patrick Morgan, who picked up an individual title at the The Citadel Invitational, while placing second at the Western Carolina Invitational. His top time of the season is 25:24.31 on the 8K course at The Citadel.

The Furman women's team has finished in the top 5 in all four meets this year, including a team titles at The Citadel Invitational. The women's team also placed second at the Eye Opener Invitational and the Western Carolina Invitational, while earning a fourth-place finish at the Disney Classic last weekend.

The Lady Paladins are led by freshman Jenna Callahan, who recently earned a third-place finish at the Disney Classic. Her top time this season came in Orlando with a career-best 18:05.66 on the 5K course. Johnson was also named the Southern Conference Runner of the Week on October 7.

Furman welcomes 22 men's and women's college teams, including Southern Conference foes College of Charleston, Davidson, Georgia Southern, and Wofford, and 45 boys' and girls' high school teams to the event this year.
