The Furman men's and women's cross country teams both took third place at the Southern Conference championships, held Saturday in Cullowhee, N.C.
Junior Patrick Morgan led the Paladins with a career-best time of 25:16.18, good for second place overall in the men's division. Two other Paladins also finished in the top twenty, with Joe Tenini coming in 16th and Alex Plasencia placing 18th.
For the women, freshman Jenna Callahan placed eighth with a time of 18:23.10 to lead the team. The Lady Paladins had three other top-twenty finishers. Brittany Johnson recorded a time of 18:38.37 to finish 14th, senior Page Bridges came in at 18th with a career-best 18:44.86 mark, and senior Lisa Mulvey recorded a career-best 18:46.58 time to place 20th for the Lady Paladins.
