CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Furman men's and women's cross country teams won the Citadel Invitational, held Saturday at James Island County Park in Charleston, S.C. Paladin sophomore Chloe Kowalksi won the women's meet, posting a time of 18:30.67 on the 5K course, and Paladin junior Charles McGoogan won the men's 8K meet with a time of 26:22.38.
Junior Jenna Callahan placed second with a time of 19:00.44, and senior Brittany Johnson finished fourth in 19:26.96. Sophomore Tricia Rossettie was sixth, completing the course in 19:38.29, and sophomore Hannah Morgan placed ninth with a time of 19:43.33. Sophomore Charlotte Coggins rounded out the Paladin scorers, placing 11th after recording a time of 19:45.65.
For the men's team, sophomore Lee Gilmer placed fourth with a time of 26:42.12, and freshman Wilkerson Given was sixth after finishing in 26:51.70. Sophomore Chris Caldwell was ninth with a time of 27:09.99, and sophomore John Miller placed 12th with a time of 27:30.26. Sophomore James Sutterfield finished 21st, completing the course in 28:10.31.
The Paladins will host the Furman Invitational on Oct. 10 in Greenville, S.C.
