The Furman men's and women's cross country teams both began their seasons with second-place finishes at the Eye Opener Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C. this weekend.
The men were led by junior Patrick Morgan, who finished sixth overall with a time of 26:31 in the 8K event. Junior Joe Tenini also finished in the top ten for the Paladins.
The women were paced by freshman Jenna Callahan, who also placed sixth with a time of 19:01 in the women's 5K. Seniors Lisa Mulvey and Holly Stewart, and sophomore Brittany Johnson also placed in the top ten runners.
The Paladins continue their season next weekend at the Western Carolina Invitational.
