Atlanta, Ga. -
Furman senior Patrick Morgan ran a season-best time in the 1500m to finish 13th overall at the Georgia Tech Track and Field Invitational at Griffin Track on Friday night. An hour and 20 minute rain delay forced the event to be held after 10 p.m.
Morgan, the lone Paladin competitor at Georgia Tech, crossed the finish line of the 1500m race in 3:49.07, besting his previous season-best mark of 3:49.36. Morgan holds the top time this year among all Southern Conference runners in the 1500m. He was aiming to qualify for NCAA Regional competition, missing the qualifying time of 3:47.80 by less than two seconds.
