Paladin Cross Country Tabbed Third, Lady Paladins Fourth in Preseason Poll
Aug. 31, 2005
Greenville, S.C. -- The Furman men's cross country team was picked third in the Southern Conference's preseason poll while the Lady Paladins were tabbed fourth, the league office announced Wednesday.
Head coach Gene Mullin's Paladins return two All-SoCon performers in senior Tyler Johnson and junior Eric Albrecht. Johnson, a native of Knoxville, Tenn., finished second at last season's Southern Conference Championships.
The Lady Paladins will look to climb into the top half of the SoCon standings with help from experienced sophomores Page Bridges and Rebecca Mullen. Furman will have to replace all-conference standout Molly Mungovan.
Furman opens the 2005 season on September 10, at the Clemson Invitational.
