Paladins Third, Lady Paladins Fourth at SoCon Cross Country Championships

STATESBORO, Georgia -- The Furman men's cross country team finished third and the Lady Paladins placed fourth at the Southern Conference Cross Country Championships Sunday morning in Statesboro, Ga.

Senior Tyler Johnson paced the Paladins and earned All-SoCon honors in the 8K event with a third place finish in 25:06.62. Junior Eric Albrecht finished eighth to garner All-SoCon accolades with a time of 25:31.14. Ian Mayne took first for Chattanooga while Adam VanNortwick of Appalachian State placed second. The Mountaineers placed five runners in the top 10 to claim the men's team title.

Rebecca Mullen led the Lady Paladins effort and grabbed All-SoCon honors with a ninth place finish in 18:41.11. Page Bridges and Brittany Thompson grabbed top 20 finished claiming 15th and 16th place, respectively.

Shannon Womack of Chattanooga claimed the individual title in the women's 5K while Davidson (46 points) edged Chattanooga (47 points) for the team title.
