Paladins, Lady Paladins Finish Second At Winthrop Invitational

Rock Hill, S.C. - The Furman men's and women's cross country teams both grabbed second place finishes at Saturday's Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C.

Senior Tyler Johnson recorded a time of 18:58.10 in the men's 6K race to finish second behind VMI's Donnie Mickels. Eric Albrecht and Sam Robinson finished eighth and ninth, respectively, to round out Furman's trio of top 10 finishers.

Brittany Thompson scored a tenth place finish for the Lady Paladins and sophomore Page Bridges placed 12th with times of 15:18.80 and 15:24.00, respectively. Campbell edged Furman for team honors in the women's 4K event.

The Furman cross country teams are idle until October 30, when they take part in the Southern Conference Championships in Statesboro, Ga.
