Tomory is a member of the Furman women's tennis team who will compete for the cross country team in the fall. She has helped the Paladin tennis team to three straight Southern Conference regular season and tournament championships and was named the SoCon Tournament Most Valuable Player as a sophomore.
Began running cross country in summer of 2008...won the James River Scramble 10K in June 2008...ran a time of 18:20 at the Brook Road Academy race in Richmond, Va. to beat the previous course record by more than 20 seconds on July 24.
High School: Tomory went undefeated in the 16-and-under Tennis Championship for the Veneto Region in Italy in 2002 and won a 4th Category tournament in Venice. In 2003, she won a 3.3 Category tournament in Vicenza. Tomory was also victorious in the Bussolengo 3rd Category tournament in 2004 and the Padora 3rd Category tournament in 2005.
Personal: Lauren Tomory was born on May 21, 1987...daughter of Robert and Martha Tomory...mother was the Furman women's tennis coach for the 1980-81 season and the gymnastics coach from 1979-81...majoring in business administration.
