GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman cross country's Savannah Carnahan has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Oct. 24-30.
A junior from Cumming, Ga., Carnahan placed second at the SoCon Cross Country Championship on Saturday, crossing the line in 17:21.81 on the women's 5K course to the lead the Paladins to their sixth-straight league title.
Carnahan earned the SoCon Pinnacle Award for holding the highest-grade point average on the championship team and was named to the All SoCon first team for the third-consecutive year. She has placed among the top three finishers at the last three SoCon Championship meets.
A double major in applied mathematics and chemistry, she holds a 3.92 grade point average.
