
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman's Aaron Templeton and Savannah Carnahan have been named the Southern Conference men's and women's cross-country runners of the week for competition that took place Oct. 10-16.
Templeton, a senior from Knoxville, Tenn., finished fourth overall at the Pre-NCAA Invitational in Madison, Wis., on Saturday. He paced the Paladins with a time of 23:50.99 on the 8K course to take fourth place and lead Furman to an eight-place overall finish. This is Templeton's second men's runner of the week honor this season.
Carnahan helped lead the Paladin women to a seventh-place overall finish at the pre-NCAA Invitational. A junior from Cumming, Ga., she crossed the finish line in seventh place with a time of 20:14.1 on the women's 6k course.
Also nominated for men's runner of the week: Mark Britt (Chattanooga), Malick Gemechu (ETSU) and Luke Sumerford (UNCG).
Furman will compete at the Southern Conference Championships on October 27 in Cullowhee, N.C.
