    Senior Allie Buchalski and sophomore Savannah Carnahan reached the NCAA Championship following the semifinals of the 5,000m Saturday in the final day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships East Preliminaries, which are being hosted by the University of South Florida and the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, May 24-26, in Tampa, Fla.

    Eleven Furman distance athletes in six events, the most in program history, will compete at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships East Preliminaries, which will be hosted by the University of South Florida and the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, May 24-26, in Tampa, Fla.  The Paladins rank second among all Division I schools for most athletes qualified in distance events.

    Furman’s Troy Reeder and Allie Buchalski have been named the Southern Conference men’s and women’s outdoor track athletes of the week, respectively, the conference office announced Wednesday.  Selections were made by panels of the league’s track and field coaches and included all competition from May 2-8.  These are the final selections of the 2018 season.

    The Furman outdoor track and field teams will compete at the 2018 Southern Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Thursday and Friday at Western Carolina’s Catamount Athletic Complex in Cullowhee, N.C.  The two-day meet will be the 94th annual Outdoor Track & Field Championship for the men and the 32nd for the women.
