GREENVILLE, S.C. -- - Furman University athletics director Gary Clark today announced several changes in staff titles for the 2004-05 school year.

Elaine Baker, who since 1994 has served as director of Furman's sports medicine and since 1997 as the department's senior women's administrator, has added the title of associate athletics director. A Greenville native, she recently completed her 19th year at the university.

Dan Brinkman, a member of the Furman athletics department since 1991 and an assistant athletics director for the past 10 years, has been named director of compliance and academics after serving the previous 13 years as athletics academic advisor. The Celina, Ohio, native's move into compliance follows the retirement of John Burns, Furman's previous director of compliance and eligibility, in June.

Chris Colvin, a 2000 Furman graduate and Raleigh, N.C., native has added the title of assistant athletics director for operations after serving the previous four years as athletic administrator for facilities and game operations.

Ken Pettus, who since 2001 has served as director of Furman's Paladin Club, the school's athletics fundraising organization, will continue in that role in addition to working with major gifts and planned giving under the new title of director of athletics development.
