GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman placed 36 athletes on the Southern Conference Fall Academic All-Conference Team, as announced today by the league office.
A total of 319 student-athletes were named to the team, comprised of representatives from men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball.
To be eligible, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average at the conclusion of the fall semester and were required to compete in at least one-half of their team's competitions during the recently concluded campaign. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least three semesters at their institutions, making true freshmen and first-year transfers ineligible for inclusion.
With ten honorees, Furman's football team topped the Paladin contingent followed by seven selections each from the women's soccer team and women's cross country squad. Furman's men's cross country team placed five representatives on the team, while the Paladin volleyball team had four selections, and the Furman men's soccer team had three representative on the team.
