FURMAN STRENGTH TRAINING AND CONDITIONING CENTER
Furman's broad-based athleics program received a tremendous boost when the school opened Timmons Arena and its ultra-modern, 7,000 square-foot strength training and conditioning center in 1998.
Served by two professional strength coaches, the facility features a full range of weight training and exercise equipment to assist Furman's approximately 300 student-athletes in reaching their athletic potential through strength training and conditioning.
Easily accessible and sporting an excellent view of Paladin Stadium, the center, which is lined with mirrors and includes two separate coaches offices and a storage room, is outfitted with MONDO flooring and features the best in new strength training and conditioning equipment, including:
6 Bench Press Stations
10 Power Rack Stations
2 Complete Dumbell Sets (with weights ranging from five to 100 pounds).
4 Olympic Lifting Stations
30 Selectorized
Power Ball Assortment (from one to seven kilograms)
3 Treadmills
2 Rowing Machines
5 Stationary Bicycles
Plyometric Boxes & Agility Ladders
In addition, the center includes a complete records display for each athletic team and is outfitted with a stereo to maximize workout intensity. Two televisions and video cassette recorders are also utilized by the staff to tape, critique, and teach proper techniques.
