Athletic Service Board
Student Athletes Competing, Supporting, Serving
The athletic department's Athletic Service Board (ASB) is comprised of at least two student-athletes from each varsity sport. This committee was established to give student-athletes a voice and representation in the decision making of Furman athletics. The Athletic Service Board serves as Furman's Student Athlete Advisory Committee to the Southern Conference and NCAA levels.
ASB has been recognized as a difference making organization on and off campus. ASB is an official student organization under the framework of AFS.
This new proactive attitude has taken the Athletic Service Board to new heights. Over the past four years, members of the board have participated in the athletic department's strategic planning process, developed a list of on-campus activities for student-athletes, posted athletic calendars on campus, organized special team recognition nights at athletic events, organized campus-wide activities at athletics events, been active volunteers in community service projects, raised money for Relay-For-Life, helped plan the athletics banquets, and organized the student-athlete field day.
In the future the committee could address national student-athlete issues as well as issues relating only to Furman student-athletes.
Lisa Mulvey (women's cross country) serves as the ASB President. ASB vice presidents are Chibuzo Aguocha (volleyball and Track/Field), Page Bridges (women's cross country, track and field), Arrington Mooney (women's soccer), Patrick Morgan (men's cross country, track and field), and Nikki Palazzo (volleyball).
